Description
Buy eloralintide (1 vial, 10 mg) from PSPeptides: a research-grade, long-acting selective amylin receptor agonist developed by Eli Lilly under the code LY3841136. Every vial is US manufactured and lyophilized, and eloralintide is tested to 99%+ purity by third-party HPLC, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry. Primary application: obesity, appetite regulation, and metabolic research in laboratory models.
What Is Eloralintide?
Eloralintide is a synthetic analog of amylin, the 37-amino-acid hormone that pancreatic beta cells release alongside insulin after a meal. It was engineered to activate the amylin 1 receptor (AMY1R) at picomolar concentrations while showing roughly 12-fold selectivity over the calcitonin receptor.
Its extended half-life supports once-weekly dosing in clinical studies. If amylin biology is new to your team, start with our complete guide to peptides before you buy eloralintide for the lab.

Figure 1: Each PSPeptides vial holds 10 mg of lyophilized eloralintide, sealed and ready for reconstitution.
Key Research Applications
- Obesity and body-weight regulation: Phase 2 data published in The Lancet showed 9.5% to 20.1% mean weight reduction over 48 weeks across once-weekly dose arms.
- Appetite and satiety signaling: Eloralintide is an agonist at amylin receptors, which are expressed in the hindbrain area postrema; food intake is the primary endpoint in rodent feeding studies.
- Combination studies with incretins: Eloralintide plus tirzepatide (EloraTZP) is being studied as a complementary approach to GLP-1/GIP receptor agonism.

Detailed Mechanism of Action
Amylin receptors are not single proteins. Each one is a heterodimer formed when the calcitonin receptor (CTR) pairs with a receptor activity-modifying protein: RAMP1 produces AMY1R, RAMP2 produces AMY2R, and RAMP3 produces AMY3R. Native amylin acts on these receptors in the area postrema and nucleus of the solitary tract, hindbrain regions that sit outside the blood-brain barrier.
Through those circuits, amylin slows gastric emptying, suppresses postprandial glucagon secretion, and signals satiety so that meals end sooner. Eloralintide was designed to bias that signaling toward the amylin receptor rather than the bare calcitonin receptor. In cAMP functional assays on human receptors, its EC50 is 23.9 pM at AMY1R compared with 291 pM at CTR and 253.8 pM at AMY3R, roughly 12-fold and 11-fold selectivity.
Binding studies reported by Lilly put human AMY1R-over-CTR selectivity at about 8-fold, which is why eloralintide is classed as a selective amylin receptor agonist rather than a dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist (DACRA) such as cagrilintide. Unopposed calcitonin receptor activation lowers plasma calcium, so this calcium-sparing profile is one reason labs buy eloralintide instead of a non-selective agonist.
Downstream, AMY1R is Gs-coupled, so agonism raises intracellular cAMP in hindbrain satiety circuits. In diet-induced obese rats dosed at 3 to 100 nmol/kg, eloralintide lowered food intake and reduced body weight by up to 12.3%, with the loss coming mainly from fat mass. It produced only weak conditioned taste avoidance, a preclinical marker of nausea-like aversion.
Pharmacology studies can run it alongside pramlintide, the short-acting amylin analog that requires multiple daily injections, to isolate the effect of receptor selectivity and duration of action. Pharmacokinetically, the molecule was engineered for an extended plasma half-life that supports once-weekly subcutaneous administration, a property confirmed in a 12-week multiple ascending dose Phase 1 study.
The practical consequence for a research program is a flatter exposure curve than native amylin or pramlintide. That simplifies chronic feeding, body composition, and glucose homeostasis designs, because fewer injections mean less handling stress in animals and fewer trough-exposure artifacts.

Published Research
The headline dataset is the 48-week Phase 2 trial (NCT06230523) by Billings, Hsia, Bays, and colleagues, published in The Lancet in November 2025. It randomized 263 US adults with obesity, or overweight plus at least one weight-related condition and no diabetes, to placebo or once-weekly eloralintide at 1 mg, 3 mg, 6 mg, 9 mg, a 6-to-9 mg escalation, or a 3-to-6-to-9 mg escalation.
Mean weight change at week 48 was -9.5%, -12.4%, -17.6%, -20.1%, -19.9%, and -16.4% respectively, against -0.4% for placebo.
Tolerability was a central finding. The most common adverse events were nausea and fatigue, reported per arm in the Lancet abstract: nausea ranged from 11% at 1 mg to 64% at 6 mg, against 14% on placebo, and fatigue from 0% at 1 mg to 46% in the 6-to-9 mg escalation arm, against 12% on placebo. Lilly described these events as mostly mild to moderate, more frequent in the higher-dose arms, and lower with slower dose escalation.
An accompanying Lancet comment by van Beek was titled “Selective amylin receptor agonism: promise beyond incretins” (The Lancet, 2025).
Two supporting papers frame the clinical data. Briere and colleagues describe the discovery and preclinical pharmacology in Molecular Metabolism, covering receptor assays, rat and monkey studies, and first-in-human results. A separate Phase 1 proof-of-concept report details the randomized, placebo-controlled 12-week multiple ascending dose study.
Eloralintide is already being evaluated as a single agent in Phase 3 trials. Registered studies now span obesity without diabetes, obesity with type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, knee osteoarthritis pain, and persistent obesity in people already taking a weekly incretin, so the research literature on this molecule will keep expanding through 2027.

Eloralintide vs Alternatives
Researchers deciding whether to buy eloralintide or a competing metabolic peptide usually compare it with cagrilintide, the dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist, and with tirzepatide, the approved GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist. The table below summarizes the published differences. Figures come from separate trials with different populations and durations, so they are not head-to-head comparisons.
| Feature | Eloralintide (This Product) | Cagrilintide | Tirzepatide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary target | Selective amylin receptor agonist (AMY1R-preferring) | Dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist (DACRA) | Dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist |
| AMY1R selectivity over CTR (human binding) | About 8-fold | Non-selective | Not applicable |
| Dosing frequency in trials | Once weekly | Once weekly | Once weekly |
| Mean weight change in key trial | -20.1% at 48 weeks (9 mg, Phase 2) | -10.8% at 26 weeks (4.5 mg, Phase 2) | -20.9% at 72 weeks (15 mg, SURMOUNT-1) |
| Most common adverse events | Nausea, fatigue (mostly mild to moderate) | Gastrointestinal events | Gastrointestinal events |
| Development status (2026) | Phase 3 monotherapy trials enrolling | Phase 3 as CagriSema (with semaglutide) | FDA approved (Mounjaro, Zepbound) |
| Combination program | EloraTZP (with tirzepatide) | CagriSema (with semaglutide) | Studied with eloralintide and other agents |
| Available from PSPeptides | Yes, 10 mg vial | See catalog | See catalog |
The practical takeaway: eloralintide delivered incretin-class weight reduction in Phase 2 through a non-incretin mechanism, with a tolerability profile that improved under slow escalation. That makes it relevant to labs studying amylin signaling on its own.

Research Protocol Considerations
Before you buy eloralintide for an animal study, note the species difference in receptor selectivity. Lilly’s binding data show roughly 109-fold AMY1R-over-CTR selectivity at rat receptors but only about 8-fold at human receptors, so rodent results will overstate selectivity relative to the clinical setting. Plan your interpretation accordingly and include a non-selective comparator where possible.
Most labs that buy eloralintide use diet-induced obese (DIO) mice or rats fed a high-fat diet for 8 to 12 weeks before dosing. Typical endpoints include daily food intake, cumulative body-weight change, body composition by NMR or DEXA, gastric emptying by acetaminophen absorption, oral glucose tolerance, and conditioned taste avoidance as a tolerability readout. Pair-fed control groups help separate direct metabolic effects from reduced intake.
Because the peptide’s half-life in rodents is shorter than in humans, dosing intervals should be validated with a pharmacokinetic pilot rather than copied from the weekly clinical schedule.
Reconstitution & Handling
Each 10 mg vial ships as a lyophilized cake. Let the vial reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation, then wipe the stopper with alcohol. Using a sterile syringe, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder.
Adding 1 mL yields 10 mg/mL (10,000 mcg/mL); adding 2 mL yields 5 mg/mL (5,000 mcg/mL). Swirl gently until the solution is clear. Never shake, because shear stress can fragment long peptides such as this 4.5 kDa amylin analog. Many researchers order bacteriostatic water with the peptide so the vial can be reconstituted the day it arrives.
For a step-by-step walkthrough with syringe photos, read our guide on how to reconstitute peptides. Because eloralintide is potent at picomolar concentrations, most in vitro protocols require serial dilution from the stock, and in vivo work is typically planned in nmol/kg. Our calculator, linked in Related Resources, converts mg, mL, and units so your dilution math is right the first time.

Figure 5: Sterile syringes, bacteriostatic water, and gentle swirling are all the reconstitution step requires.
Storage & Stability
Store lyophilized eloralintide at -20°C for long-term stability; properly sealed vials remain stable for four years or more at this temperature according to reference-standard suppliers, and refrigeration at 2-8°C is acceptable for several weeks of active use. Brief exposure to ambient temperature during shipping does not degrade the dry powder.
Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, keep the vial at 2-8°C, protect it from light, and use it within about four weeks. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; if long-term storage of a solution is required, aliquot and freeze at -20°C once. If you order several vials, keep unopened vials frozen and reconstitute one at a time.
Amylin analogs are prone to aggregation when exposed to heat, agitation, or repeated temperature swings, so handling discipline matters more than with smaller peptides. Our peptide storage guide covers the full decision tree for lyophilized and reconstituted stock, which is worth reviewing before a multi-week study.
Certificate of Analysis
Every batch of eloralintide sold by PSPeptides is tested by an independent laboratory. The certificate of analysis reports HPLC purity (the fraction of total peak area attributable to the target peptide, specified at 99% or higher), mass spectrometry identity confirmation against the expected molecular weight of roughly 4,526 Da, batch number, and test date.
Each lot’s batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is published on this page. It is tied to the lot number printed on the vial. Ask any supplier for lot-level testing; a generic purity claim without a chromatogram tells you nothing about the vial in your hand.
If you are new to reading these documents, our article on peptide purity and how to read a COA explains what each chromatogram and mass spectrum means, how to spot incomplete testing, and why batch-specific data is the minimum standard you should demand for any research peptide.

What is the difference between eloralintide and cagrilintide?
Both are long-acting, once-weekly amylin analogs, but eloralintide is a selective amylin receptor agonist with about 8- to 12-fold preference for AMY1R over the calcitonin receptor, whereas cagrilintide is a dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist with much lower selectivity. In Phase 2, eloralintide reached 20.1% mean weight reduction at 48 weeks, while cagrilintide reached 10.8% at 26 weeks in its own Phase 2 trial.
How much eloralintide is in each vial?
Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized eloralintide, tested to 99%+ purity by HPLC. This listing is for one vial; reconstituting with 1 mL of bacteriostatic water produces a 10 mg/mL stock solution that can be diluted for in vitro or in vivo research protocols.
Where is the certificate of analysis for eloralintide?
Each lot’s batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is published on this page. It documents HPLC purity and mass spectrometry identity confirmation. The lot number on the certificate matches the label on your vial, so you can trace results back to the exact batch used in your study.
Is eloralintide a GLP-1 peptide?
No. Eloralintide does not act on GLP-1 or GIP receptors; it works through amylin receptors in the hindbrain. That separate mechanism is why Lilly is testing it both alone and in combination with tirzepatide, and why it is used to study appetite regulation independently of incretin signaling.
Is eloralintide approved for human use?
No. Eloralintide is an investigational compound still in clinical trials and has not been approved by the FDA or any other regulator. PSPeptides sells it strictly as a research chemical for in vitro and animal studies by qualified researchers and institutions, and buyers are responsible for compliance with their institutional and local regulations.
How does eloralintide compare with retatrutide?
Retatrutide is a triple GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptor agonist, while eloralintide works exclusively through amylin receptors. The two address different physiological axes, so eloralintide suits satiety-signaling studies and retatrutide suits incretin and glucagon pathway studies.
